This Pesto recipe does not have be made with basil and pine nuts. Any dark leafy green in your 2445 Organic SuperGrow rack can be used though. I’ve also used brazil nuts and walnuts in my pesto recipes. Experiment with your favorite oils in this recipe. Olive, hemp, flax, grape seed and many other interesting organic oils can be found online and in stores. Basil planted in our racks is typically ready to eat within 21 days after you plant the seed.
Organic Pesto Recipe
4 cups organic leaves
1/2 cup oil
1/3 cup nuts
3 garlic cloves
Salt & Pepper
optional: grated cheese or nutritional yeast
Add leaves, nuts, garlic in food processor and pulse to chop.
Add oil, cheese and pulse until smooth.
Season with salt and pepper.
The leftovers can be froze in ice cube trays for future recipes. Fresh pesto will last in the fridge for about a week.
